Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my dear readers. I hope that you all had wonderful New Year's celebrations. I, for one, watched several episodes of Sex and the City (which always make me feel like I can take on the world) by myself and saw the delayed broadcast of the ball drop in NYC. It wasn't the most stimulating of New Year celebrations, however, it didn't bother me one bit to be by myself. Look at that folks, she's growing up!

Today is the second to last day at home (wow!). I have finally finished getting my laptop back in shape after its meltdown and am now free to concentrate on things that matter, like preparing a lesson on Roswell/UFOs for my first hour on Monday. Why is it that I should know anything about that again? Oh right, it happened in the US! And I'm the expert on all matters that have ever occurred in this fair land. Of course. How could I forget?

It would appear that this two week hiatus hasn't been quite enough to reinvigorate my passion for teaching...

This is a photo from the New Year's Day Christmas lunch with one side of the family. I'd just finished a "Chinese" doughnut (?) and some sushi--yum!
