This wee lass is in Ireland!

Greetings to all from cold and windy Dublin! Got here on Wednesday night and immediately went out for a pint with Ken. I still haven't had a Guinness yet (wait for it--tomorrow we are going to the brewery, which I figure is the best place to get the best Guinness around), but I did discover that I really like Kilkenny. Do you guys know this beer? It's good--give it a shot the next chance you get.

We've luckily been going at a very reasonable pace so far, and I haven't had to repeat a single tourist sight yet! Makes me wonder what I did the first time I was in Dublin? I certainly didn't go to the Natural History Museum, which Ken and I decided to go to yesterday. Did you know that Ireland was the home to a giant deer about 10,000 years ago? The span of the rack on this deer was absolutely ginormous, and it turns out that it shed the rack once a year and it grew a new one! By ginormous I mean at least a six foot span, and the rack looked more like the base of a fork--you know, where it is solid and then has tines that stick off that fat part. This deer has quickly become my favorite animal in Ireland.

Off to run around in the wind and *potential* rain/snow before stopping off for another pint in some friendly pub. Hope you all had good turkey days!

Kilkenny is a great beer, it was my usual order at the Irish Pub we went to when I was in Deutschland. Afterall sometimes you need a change from the Hefeweizen.
