Deaf-Mute Street & other lovely locations

I think that whoever named the streets in this town was running out of ideas. Otherwise they were very drunk. Some examples:

Taubstummenstrasse -- how about a lovely apartment on Deaf-Mute Street?

Flachgasse -- flach literally means flat, but this street goes uphill at a steep grade and should actually have one of those signs posted on it, warning truckers to down shift.

Nauseagasse -- need I say more? Does anyone want to live on Nausea Lane? (I actually know someone who does, poor thing.)

Nesselgasse -- Nessel are nettles. Not particularly inviting.

Schlachthausgasse -- Slaughterhouse Lane. Yum.

If I come across some more, I'll post them.

Fascinating stuff, Miss Watson. I myself have been mullling the possibilities of researching me Celtic roots, mostly because I've got these coworkers who special order a lot of mythology and pagan books to fill up our corporate bookstore. :) Me, I just had a "customer request" for Heather Has Two Mommies....speaking of which, Mari is officially an Aunt as of Thanksgiving Day. Welcome Adam Daniel to the world in German, if you would. Miss you. Look for Yule Tide greetings to come via mail as soon as I get to buying the cards. And stamps. Ah, planning.
