Why is my eye twitching?

It is rather pathetic that the only development worth reporting since I last blogged is that my eyelids are twitching. Not constantly, but rather in fits and spurts, first the left then the right and so on. It is VERY annoying and I want it to go away.

Why is this happening? Good question. I looked it up on WebMD, which says that eyelid twitching is nothing to be concerned about and is usually caused by stress and/or fatigue. I'd say that I have both of those elements going, what with getting up around 6 AM most mornings and falling into bed around midnight.

Other people have been weighing in with their opinions. Someone said it is dehydration and another person suggested poor nutrition, but especially a lack of potassium. How do people know this stuff? I haven't been drinking much water lately, so that part could be true. I have also been eating either crap (there's a lot of catering at work these days) or have been going hungry because I had no food. That problem has now been solved; I went to the grocery store on Saturday night (OMG, I'm so lame, I know) and spent $115 on food just for me. I can't even remember the last time I did that. It was probably when I moved to New York for the first time and started from scratch on the pantry front. Last night I ate a lovely rounded meal of t-bone steak (!), mashed potatoes and a medley of veggies. It was the first real meal I'd had in a while.

In other news...I went to a play on Friday night. It was pretty good. Cate Blanchett was sitting four rows in front of us and I didn't even notice her! I'm so oblivious sometimes. The other three people with me did notice her however, and didn't bother to nudge me or whisper to me that she was there. Talk about useless! What's the point in going to a play with people if they aren't going to point out the celebrities that you are to blind to see?

I attended one Halloween party so far, which was October's German meet-up group. I wore a spider print cape and mask and managed to win a prize for my costume even though it wasn't particularly awe-inspiring or creative. I really just wanted to wear a cape. In case you can't tell from the picture, my friend Mark was K-Fed (ha!), while Pete was a Girls Gone Wild camera man (he's the one with the soul patch). Ro and Josef had pretty normal costumes.

This week is midterms, so I've been spending a lot of time doing homework, which isn't going to relent until I go to London for Thanksgiving. Honestly it is only going to relent then if I have everything done before I go, as I have a pretty big paper due the day after I return. I have to start working on that tonight!

Were the t bones as good as Dad's black angus? I do believe twitching comes from fatigue. So what was the title of your award for costume or doesn't a parent wish to know?
Well the Starmont Stars are in the playoffs vs St. Ansgar, so "are the Stars out tonight" we'll know in a couple of hours. It should be wild and woolly.
Love dad

MMMM, lack of sleep and stress cause eyelid twitching for sure. The reason is that those muscles are trained to react more frequently/quickly than other muscles of the body. It is truly annoying. Extra sleep is prescribed by your nurse mother.....Take care of yourself, kiddo!
